A simple experiment in fueling environment. John Haddock took scenes from pornography and photoshopped out the porn. taking away the people, however, does little to make the stage sets feel less seedy. in fact, knowing the context, the feelings one might have towards the porn stars is transfered onto the crummy furniture left behind. it seems that since we know what the sets were used for, the feelings we would get from viewing a porn scene are projected onto what is left - the pillows, props and rugs. the inanimate scenes feel as seedy as a woman giving head might. This post is not about the value judgment of porn. It’s about the odd experiment of the human mind. How feelings we may get from one phenomenon may be attributed, transfered and infused into the environment, medium and tangibles associated.
